Aquatic
Plants Information Links
There
are many great websites on the internet covering all aspects of
keeping a planted aquarium, including: where to buy, which types
of plants
to keep, basic aquatic gardening/ care & requirements for plants,
aquaspacing techniques, how to minimize unwanted algeas, using Carbon
Dioxide properly,
and even some book reviews.
If
you are looking for some inspiration, the European "Dutch" style
and the Japanese "Nature" styles are both very attractive.
The "Dutch"
style typically uses several different species of aquatic plants
and
focuses on creating a specific look based on the different colors,
shapes, and textures of the plants. The Japanese "Nature" style
is influenced by the gardens of Japan, combining rocks and/or driftwood
into the composition and selecting a smaller number of species
of plants
to achieve it's balanced composition. Good sources
of information could be your local aquarium
club (and maybe get some nice plants at their auctions). For
websites not in your native language, I recommend using the Altavista
babelfish located here: http://babelfish.altavista.com
