In August of 2002, I planned a trip to visit Great Lakes Discus, since I was up in
Michigan to visit my parents - they live about an hour from Cary.  I had emailed
Cary a few times and even referred some people to him, so it was nice to finally
stop by, meet him, and see his fish.   Even though I didn't buy any fish from him
- my quarantine tank had some bacterial problems at the time, Cary and his
family were really nice, especially Jack who just HAD to show me his room!.
Cary was nice enough to identify his fish for me (I did take a few more photos,
but the fish were 'looking away', etc.. and not behaving for the camera!).

(click on the small photos below for an enlarged view - note that the enlarged view
will be in a new window; close the new window first before proceeding to the next
small photo, or else the new window will be hidden from view.)

Myself and Cary #1 Snakeskin #1

My dad took this photo of myself and a tired Cary Strong.  Cary did all the plumbing
himself for his hatchery.  The fish on the right is his blue fine line snakeskin.  This fish
was crossed from fish sourced by Connie and Johnathan Teh in Penang, Malaysia
(Waterlife Aquatics) and Samson Chung (www.universaldiscus.com).

SnakeSkin #2 SnakeSkin #3

On the left, red snakeskin from Kitti Phanaitthi of Thailand
(www.kittidiscus.com) crossed with fish from Tan Chee Lok (Mark Tan)
of Inda Discus Farm in Malaysia.
On the right, original snakeskin from Samson Chung crossed with
Malaysia pigeon blood snakes from Mark Tan

jewel diamond #1 Heckel

On the left, is his jewel diamond sourced from Connie and Johnathan
Teh crossed with Mark Tan's red leopard.
On the right is a tank with some red spotted greens, and some
heckels (they have the black center stripe).

butterfly X white diamond #1 Violets #1

On the left, butterflies from Samson Chung crossed with white diamonds
from Connie and Johnathan Teh.
On the right are violets from Wayne's Discus Centre of Hong Kong.

On the left, butterflies X tangarine both across from Samson Chung stock.
On the right, butterflies from Samson Chung crossed with white diamonds

red #2 red #3

These are melons x red doll cross from Chai Koon Seng of Singapore
  (www.chaidiscus.com.sg) and Kitti Phanaitthi
stock.  Cary told me these were an "accidental" spawning.
(guess that happens in the fish world too?).

leopard #1 leopard #2

young leopard snakeskins, leopards, and turquoise waiting for a new home!
