Dwarf Angels:
Flame Angel:
Total size: 3 - 3 ½ in.
Scientific Name: Centropyge loriculus
Unlike the larger angelfish, and many other dwarf angels, the flame angel is actually "reef safe" meaning that it can be kept with live corals and other invertebrates reasonably safely. It's usually only aggressive to other dwarf angel fish, of similar size, shape, and color. Although this is not always the case, they have been known to show interest in other fish of the same color. Like all angelfish, they stake out a territory of some type in your tank. You should keep only one flame angel in your tank. It is best to only keep one dwarf angelfish when keeping this species because it targets other angelfish. It's very brightly colored and each one is unique. They have black bands on their sides not typical to all flame angels. Meaning, you may have a flame angel with 5 black bands, and see another with 6. This is a very nice looking, hardy fish, easily available in the trade.
Tank mates:
Some species of tang
Few species of butterflyfish
Damsels
Some wrasse
And other community type fish

Coral Beauty:
Total size: 3 - 3 ½ in.
Scientific Name: Centropyge bispinosus
Not as colorful, or as troublesome as the flame angel, but is a very nice fish to keep. It needs the same requirements as the flame angel and belongs to the same genus, but probably should not be kept with a flame angel unless you have plenty of room in your tank, this way there will be some refuge when being chased by another fish. They have orange sides which fade into purple, and the rest of it's body is a deep maroon/purple. Some individuals will have more orange than others. It's a peaceful community fish and popular in the trade.
